They are known for their DYI ethic-punk, embodied in such actions such as distributing six albums worth of their own material for free on their website, and offering free stencils and paint for fans to create their own T-shirts. Bomb the Music Industry! plays a blend of several musical styles anchored in ska and hardcore punk. The influences go deeper than ska and punk, however, as studio experimentation, synth-pop, and DC hardcore all pop up in the mix. n live performances the band has begun using digital technology to create breakdowns that sound like they are lifted from 8-bit video games.
Bikini Kill was an American alternative rock, punk rock band. The group is widely considered to be the pioneer of the riot grrrl movement, and was notorious for its radical feminist lyrics and fiery performances. Their music was characteristically abrasive and hardcore punk-influenced. While occasionally collaborating (politically and creatively) with high-profile acts such as nirvana and joan Jett, Bikini Kill was well-known for shunning major labels and the mainstream rock press.

This is What You Get is a Live Album in which the set consists entirely of songs by Radiohead. The album was recorded at SKAlloween 2003 at the Downtown in Farmindale, New York. This album was released free for download on the Quote UniqueSite Halloween 2006, but it was originally included as an enhanced cd extra on Three Cheers For Disappointment. The name is derived from the chorus of Karma Police, although the actual lyrics are "This is what you'll get."
I've noticed that a lot of you young'uns are huge fans of Bomb The Music Industry (and rightfully so, they are siiiick), but have no idea who The Arrogant Sons of Bitches are. Well in the words of one of the two rappers I regularly listen to: "You Must Learn!". Their self titled discography isn't actually everything that they ever did, as they released "Three Cheers for Disappointment" after the discography release, but it is one hell of an album with very few tracks that could be considered filler. If you love the 3rd wave (you nerd), grab a copy of the album. It's damn solid.
The Arrogant Sons of Bitches (commonly abbreviated as ASOB) was a 6-piece ska punk band. In 1995, Joe Werfleman and Jeff Rosenstock started playing Green Day cover songs together. More members gradually joined their band, and in 1998 they recorded their first album, Built to Fail, for $1000 over five days. This is next unreleased album by The Arrogant Sons Of Bitches called Nirvana. Compilation of songs from previous albums and some new.

The band was formed by twin brothers Ray and Brandon Carlisle, following the dissolution of their previous band, Homeless Wonders, in 2000. Their music is heavily influenced by Kody's other bands. In 2003 they wrote and recorded their first full length LP Another Way, also released on One Legged Pup. The release was vinyl only (the first 500 on pink vinyl), released on Halloween night 2003.
This was the album that introduced me to free music so it seems only natural to begin with an analysis of this fantastic debut from the collective that has since spawned four further full lengths, all available for free. I can’t remember where I heard about this album but on the first few listens I was compelled by the awesome catchiness of ‘Ready…Set…No!’ to really get into this band. It was punk rock and it was free. Since those are two of my favourite things I was in no position to dislike it. Musically the songs jump back and forth through various intermingled styles: from minimal acoustic tracks that build into satisfying crescendos (‘Sweet Home Cananada’), DC-style hardcore (Frantic opener ‘Blow Your Brains Out On Live TV’) and punk rock (‘It ceases to be whining…’) whilst remaining primarily rooted in ska punk upstrokery (‘Ready, Set, No…’). Barring a few more ballad-ish numbers, the album is dominated by fast, catchy sub three minute songs.
The World/Inferno Friendship Society (commonly referred to as "World Inferno" or "Inferno") is a cabaret punk band. Its style merges punk, klezmer, and jazz, while its collective membership features horns, piano, and guitar.
This musical collective has over 30 members, including former members of Dexis Midnight Runners. Usually one can expect to see about nine or ten members on-stage when they perform. The group is led by singer Jack Terricloth and guitarist Lucky Strano, who have been the most constant members throughout the group's history. Terricloth is known for his pointed commentary during shows: his monologues have touched on politics, his transformation from the "old school", and baiting of bouncers which usually end up with the band buying drinks for the whole staff.

A straight-edged post-hardcore act built on thunderous dynamics and pure devotion -- were born from the ashes of NYC Punk stalwarts Youth of Today. Plenty of bands boast about having a high energy delivery, but with their disciplined, full-fledged calls-to-arms, Shelter are among the relative few that warrant the claim.
Quest for Certainty aims to serve as both a spiritual exploration and a religious affirmation of the Hare Krishna faith. If the album's instrumentation followed the lyrics' more exploratory angles, it might make for a more interesting record. Instead, the music, with its Youth of Today meets hard rock feel, clings to the more affirmative side of the fence. On the whole though, Shelter's honesty is commendable and it's hard to deny the catchiness of songs like "In Defense of Reality" and the title track.
40oz. to Freedom received mixed critical reviews upon its first release, but is now generally approved as a sincere record, with many spots of brilliance and ingenuity. 40oz. to Freedom is one of the most popular albums released in the third-wave of Ska. Its sound blended various forms of Jamaican music, including ska (Date Rape), rocksteady ("5446 That's My Number"), roots reegae and dub ("Let's Go Get Stoned", "D.J.s") with British and American hardcore punk ("New Thrash", "Hope"), hiphop ("Scarlet Begonias") and folk music ("Rivers of Babylon").
