Compilations are always somewhat of a poisoned gift, and especially in today’s musical climate where anyone can make their own compilation within matter of minutes I wonder if releasing a compilation to start your label (or a re-start in this case) is really the way to go. I think compilations have long outlived their usefulness, so maybe the fact that Subversion was made for the benefit of Amnesty International can give it somewhat of a push. In my opinion, the point of a compilation is to offer the possibility to discover new bands for a fair price, and to that effect Subversion really serves its purpose. It features mostly British bands I hadn’t heard from before together with some American names in what appears to be an attempt to include some “familiar” names on the tracklist sheet.Tracklist:
